My friend has a bet with another friend and he asked me if I knew this. I don't own the DVD .....and I couldn't find the clip on line.

Who is the announcer in the clip of the WSOP match between Chan and Seidel. Memory says it's Lon McClearen(sp?). Can someone confirm?

I'm not sure but the guy who says "That's the thing about no limit hold 'em, you're never down and out until all your chips are gone" is Bobby Baldwin. Is that who you're talking about?

My apologies for not having the details down....

The guy doing the play by play. I have Lon's voice in my head recalling it, not sure if it's Lon though...something like "And look at the look on Chan's face, setting the trap for Seidel. And it works...Seidel goes ALL IN! Chan calls instantly and is your new WSOP champion." not verbatim but something like that.

The announcer's name is Chris Marlowe. I don't recall it being said in Rounders, but I have a copy of that WSOP on my computer.

The ref says:
"Eric Seidel can not win this hand and yet he doesn't know it. Chan is trying to suck him in, by taking his time. Oh look att that look of the defending champ. And now, fifth street, a 6 of diamonds - no help, Johnny Chan has a queen-high straight. Will Eric Seidel fall for the bait? YES! He's going all-in and Chan has it. Johnny Chan the master!"

Then some other guy gets interviewed and says:
"Well that's the important thing with the game of hold'em you know you're never down and out until your chips are all gone and...[fadeout]"

EDIT: The credits only say "World Poker Tournament footage courtesy of Binion's Horseshoe Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada"

Confirmed...in many of the late 80s, early 90s, Marlowe was the announcer. He was ok.
