View Full Version : Did hmeister's antics contribute to Gerasimov's read and call?

Gerasimov tables a ten high. Hmeister insists on calling the floor because he hadn't had a chance to bet. Then hmeister goes allin. Gerasimov must have wondered why would someone go to all that trouble rather than just table the winning hand. Also he may have had a general read on an opponent who would raise preflop with 72o.

Sorry to start a new thread, but I didn't want this point to be lost.

there's no big deal in raising any two cards preflop heads up, especially w/ deep stacks.

Everyone was talking about how Gerasimov called with ten high and how hmeister would obviously bet knowing he was ahead. However, hmeister's making the big fuss may have clued Gerasimov that something was up. It didn't matter that Gerasimov had ten high. He could tell from hmeister's behaviour that hmeister knew he was behind.

Whether or not I should have started a new thread, this is a point that has not been explicitly discussed.

Actually it is discussed about 5 posts into the main thread on this. A few examples
ex 1 (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=2665304&page=0&view=c ollapsed&sb=5&o=14&vc=1)
example 2 (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=2664426&page=0&view=c ollapsed&sb=5&o=14&vc=1)

The more interesting discussion is should you always make a big fuss since it is the only way you can get a call if you have him beat. That has also been discuessed
