You start with 10,000 in chips. And I think the actual physical number is almost 30 chips

conversly, you start with as many chips as the buyin to the event. So the main event is 10k, a 5000 dollar event is 5000, and a 1,500 is 1,500.

I heard that next year, due to the popularity of the pre-flop all-in move, each player will start out with one enormous $10,000 chip.

Why does it have to be enormous? Because it's the World Series of Poker, god dammit.

The Harrah's director of media relations has informed me that these are hereby declared to be 'Circular Plaques,' as opposed to 'chips,' as you have worded it.

Please note this for future posts.

Thanks. 25, not 50. There are obviously no T50 chips.

They are NOT going to one big chip. Instead, they will go to those goofy looking things they use in Europe that look like coasters. You can set your drinks on them AND use them to bet. I'm ALL IN!!! I'm throwing in the kitchen sink, the cadillac AND the drink coasters!

does anyone else know what these 'goofy little things' we use in europe are?

Plaques (which look similar to a coaster) that are used in place of chips for high denominations. At the WPT event at the Aviation Club plaques are used for 10,000 Euros.

You start with the same number chips as the tournament buyin. For a $2000 WSOP event, you get 2,000 chips. For the main event, 10,000 chips.

Thanks for clearing that up since it wasn't already covered multiple times in this thread. Oh wait, I guess it was covered multiple times. Nevermind.

Sorry, when I scanned the thread, I saw a bunch of responses just saying you got 10,000. It looks like there was one person who said that you get the same chips as your buyin for the other events. So it was covered once.

I'll go away now.
