I just got IDed for alcohol. Am 22 and legal drinking age is 18. Hadn't been IDed for 6 months and remarked last week that I thought my days of being IDed were over. Glad to be wrong.

Edit: The U2 gig can online be heard in the UK, and not via online, sorry.

I'm 22 and always always get carded for cigarettes (18). I usually have a full face of stubble or a crappy beard.

I'm 25 and I get carded all the time.

It doesn't help that I look 17.

I used to be a manager in a bar. In 96 I asked someone for an ID and they had been born in 50s. I am in my 30s and get carded if I wear a cap into a casino.

There's a huge difference in the chances of getting IDed here in britland compared to the US.

I've been going to clubs since i was 16, some in manchester which were 21 to enter, no one really cares. I'm 20 now and get IDed about once every 4 months, which sucks since i carry no ID since i still don't drive.

Some do it no matter what you look like, for legal hassle reasons. The cops have stepped things up, the t.v. stations got in on it, and there's a campaign in California at least to make them card everyone who looks under 30 or something, and 30 can look like pretty much anything from 16 to 50, so ...

It happens all the time (I'm 25).

Last week, another teacher at my school started yelling at me for sitting in the wrong section during an assembly, which is even worse because it means she thought I was 17 or 16. Or she could just be a moran.

I am 24 and young looking so I get carded for alcohol (in US) most of the time, but sometimes not. On the other hand, I have never NOT been carded for cigarettes.

My mexican friend looks really young so when he went into Walmart to try some sample fruit snacks they told him he needed an adult with him to try them, the minimum age was 16. He needed to show ID that he was in fact 23 in order just to try them. Took him awhile to get over that one.

So my buddy (he's 36) and I (I'm 33) were getting some beers at the ball game the other night. Kid selling the beer (no more than 22) cards my buddy. Kid tells him they are supposed to card anyone that looks under 35. I start to hand him my ID, kid says, "No man, you're cool."

Got ID'd for the first time in so long that I can't remember at one of the casino's around Toronto last week. I'm 33. I know I look young, but I was still pretty shocked.

I didn't exactly get IDed for smokes today.

Me--"Two packs of American Spirit regulars."
Clerk--"How old are you, sir?"
Me--"Twenty-five."
Clerk--"That will be ten dollars and forty-nine cents."

And I look like this:

Some provinces in Canada are 18, most are 19. In BC where I live, its 19, and all alcohol merchants are required by law to ask anyone who appears to be under the age of 25 for 2 pieces of government ID. The second piece can be anything with your name/signature on it (ie credit card, social security card, birth certificate etc)

The last time I was Id'ed was when I was 25 and was buying a lottery ticket at the corner store. The moran behind the counter acted like she was sure I was under 18...and looked at my ID for a long time as if she was sure it was fake.

Before that, I hadn't been ID'ed in about 5 years. I've always looked a little older than my age.

I used to work at a liquor store. I was pretty accurate with guys (we were supposed to card if they looked like they were 26 or younger), but women were really tough for me sometimes. Once I carded a chick, and she wanted to give me hugs and kisses. She was 38 years old, and she totally looked like maybe 23 or 24. But, it goes the other way too. I sold some chick some beer, and she asked if I wanted to see her ID. I said sure, knowing that chicks sometimes flirt, wanting a compliment on how young they look or whatever. I had this chick pegged at 31 or so, looked at her ID, she was 23 with wrinkles around her eyes. Yikes! Poor girl.

Personally, I am 32 and still get carded EVERY time. As long as my hair doesn't fall out or turn white in the next 8 years, I'll probably get carded until I'm 40. I just laugh. I am so used to it, I just hand the ID right over and smile.

I get ID'd for alcohol all the time at 25. but even better than that, I actually got the children's menu, you know with the crayons and everything, once at Friendly's when I was a senior in college.

For me, it stopped when I hit 25, except for one goofy waitress when I was 30.

But I don't smoke, and almost never drink, so I am a mighty small sample size (first time in years I've used the words "I, small, and size" in the same sentence!).

Carded last week at age 34. At age 33, one liquor store refused to sell to me when I didn't have a license with me.
Carded more frequent when I had no beard.
Doesn't bother me (except for the time when I had no ID with me).

I once went to a small bar in Iowa with a friend of mine when I was in my late 20s and he was over 50. He looks younger than me. He got carded (while I didn't). This has been a source of great amusement for him since.

Last time I was carded, I was 15 (mid-30's now).

Growing a full beard at 16 really, really helps.

26. My girlfriend gets ID'd more than me and she's 29. Actually they often ask for her ID and say they didn't need to look at mine :/
