What can you buy with $1000? $10,000? I need some way of putting this in perspective as a 19 year old who doesn't buy [censored] or pay bills.

$1,000 is rent in a lot of places, or close to a mortgage payment in others.

$10,000 is a good used car.

Anyone who doesn't know how much $1000 is, mail me a check, and I'll have a running picture thread here in OOT of everything I buy.

Grey, I actually didn't mind this one. At least you didn't screw the width up.

I live in Fairfax, accross the street from Fair Oaks shopping mall. The complex is nice, there's a huge lake and a pool and a huge covered parking area, as well as tennis courts, raquetball, and a fitness room. I actually pay $925/month I think.

"What can you buy with $1000? $10,000?"

you used to be able to buy $10,000 with $1000 back in the old days, but nowadays a grand only gets you around $5500. sigh.
