View Full Version : How do you fall asleep?

Posting this because I've almost always fallen asleep by laying on my left side. I decided the other night to try and fall asleep on my back but after an hour I just couldn't do it. The only times I can fall asleep on my back are when I'm drunk and ready to pass out.

On my stomach, right arm up, left arm down, looking to the right.

On my ride side against the wall, with my right arm underneath my body. It usually falls asleep. I also get sleep paralysis once in a while too. Annoying.

How do you have your right arm up and your head looking the same way? So your arm is under your pillow and your head is kinda on top of it? Sounds uncomfortable.

Anyway, is this topic original enough?

I used to always fall asleep on my left side because I faced away from the wall, towards the doorway, when I fell asleep that direction.

Now, I have a big bed in the center of the room and I fall asleep any direction.

with much difficulty. unless I've been up for 36 hours or so, it takes me at least an hour from hitting bed to falling asleep.

I always have to start out on my right side, then switch to my left side.

I always have to have the fan on, even in the winter. My better half hates it.

With the TV on my side. I can't sleep on my back or stomach. Not even close

I'm not sure. I'm usually asleep when it happens.

I usually start on my right side, because I fall asleep watching TV. I've found that I'm more comfortable on my left side. My personal favorite is on my stomach, but it makes my neck hurt.

When sleeping on my side, I put one pillow between my knees, and another pillow in front of my stomach to rest my arm on (i know, I'm spooning a pillow. [censored] you all). Pillow between the knees is key. It keeps your back properly aligned, and keeps the insides of your knees from possibly being bruised. Try it, you won't go back.

Very similar to this except left arm up, right arm down, looking to the right. I sleep wild.

I usually sleep on my stomach with my head under the pillow. I don't know why.

I'm a big fan of head under pillow.... especially when the pillowcase is nice and cool. As a kid, I used to put my pillowcase in the freezer on a hot summer night (which was like twice a year in seattle)

On my side - all snuggled up in my unicorn blanket and my care bear collection.

My kitten shaped, rainbow colored nightlight does for me what your TVs do for you - gives me added comfort and security by keeping the boggie monster away.

On my arm, so that I can't feel it when I wake up. It's cool as [censored].

Kinda half on my side, half on my stomach with my arms around my pillow. either side. very weird fact. my dreams are very different on my left vs right side.

How the hell do you breathe when sleeping on your stomach?
My face is in the pillow and I can't breathe.
I can't turn my head sideways cuz my neck would twist off.

I had a bunch of different bedrooms both growing up and as an adult, and when the bed was touching a wall on one side, would always fall asleep facing that wall. Usually on my side. It's been both left and right. For the last few years, with one side of my bed again touching a wall, it's been left.

I generally turn away from anything that exposes me to light or anything distracting. Away from doors and windows, toward a wall. A little crying, and it's done! j/k

on my back with a featherdown pancake pillow over my head and my arm touching a soft cool pillow on my side or touching the pillow over my face.
