yeah probably. Almost as good as the time I was in D.C. and a guy had a sign that said "Trying to raise a million dollars to take us all to Hawaii"

I'd kick his ass ninja style and tell him it was a free lesson.

More likely you would continue jerking off to your Jessica Alba wallpaper and then post on OOT about what you claim you'd do.

at least he's trying something different. I might give him a buck or two for making me smile. I remember a homeless guy in Baltimore once who had a sign that read, "I'm not going to lie, I want a beer." I gave him some money for his honesty.

I've seen "I need money for drugs and booze. At least I'm honest"

I did not give him money.

Geez, some people never learn... JOKES ARE UNACCEPTABLE IN OOT, try and remember that from now on.

There was a story in the Dallas News about a guy who does this for a living.

The lights stay green for 2 minutes and red for 1 minute. So that is 20 red lights an hour, if he gets $1 to $3 a red light, he is pulling down $20-60 an hour for 12 hours a day!

He did 12 hours, from 7A to 7P, and he stated that he made about $80K-100K a year.

I seriously doubt this is the norm.
I see these guys all the time and most of the time they don't even get ONE dollar per red light, much less 3.

Anyway, I tend to drive around with a case of bottled water in my car, so I always offer them that instead of money. They're always appreciative.

I used to give out food (like nuts and granola bars, stuff that doesn't go bad) but half these guys have no teeth and can't eat regular food.

I've considered getting small gift certificates for restaurants and giving those out or else keeping canned foods in my car.

Though I never give beggers any money I would give this a fin for creativity.

That's almost as good as the one my wife and I saw in San Francisco. Some guy was holding a sign that said "Abducted by aliens, just got back, need bus fare, please help."

I almost gave him a ten just for the laugh we got...

Definitely. It's not right, but I'm much more willing to give money to guys who make me laugh. I had one guy tell me he needed money to buy condoms so he and his girlfriend didn't make more homeless people. I was walking down the street wearing a Yankees shirt another time and a guy told me he would make the Yanks win the world series if I gave him a buck. We'll see how that pans out.

I think it's right. They should earn their money like everyone else.

My rule has always been 'if the shows good, I'll pay the cover." I'd give that guy a five. My favorite was a guy in chicago that had a sign reading, 'if you give money to charity, you have to wonder if it's being used wisely, at least if you give it to me you can be sure it's not.'

It depends on how many 5 year olds he can take.

I would certainly give this dude money!! I would also try to have a littl convo with him--these people are awesome.

Anyone from D.C.? Whatever happened to that crazy bitch in Georgetown that used to have those crazy sign about Lawyer Bob and the White House? She was awesome!! No convo with her though, she immediately told me to get the F away.
