no, lcd panels are very temperature sensitive. don't use windex either, use eyeglass cleaner.

Windex will destroy an lcd in the long run.

50% rubbing alcohol and water makes a great laptop cleaner. You can use it on the screen, the body, etc. If you have some around, there is no reason to go buy anything fancy.

And make sure you do not press too hard when trying to clean an LCD. You can potentially damage the screen. There are also monitor cleaning wipes you can get from office stores.

I think that for those who don't know it might be worth mentioning that the screen for the Inspiron 9300 is different than a 'typical' laptop screen.

I just got my 9300 and freaking LOVE it.

But the screen is more of a smooth-plastic or something and is a different texture than my Inspiron 5100 screen.

So I'm not sure whether or not the same cleaning techniques/materials should be used.
Of course, since mine is brand new I don't need to clean it yet.

Laptop and LCD Screen cleaning is very simple.

1. Take a non-abrasive cloth (Or paper towel works fine, if smooth).
2. Make lightly damp (But not wet, you do NOT want things "running" down your screen")
3. Clean the surface.

DO NOT:

1. Use any type of cleaning material, especially things like windex. I dont recommend anything, because water does just fine (I've cleaned thousands of screens, and never needed more than water and a paper towel).

You can use some sort of alcohol, but why risk it?
