Question about Getting staked

Is it good/smart to get staked (50/50) into a game that you can afford? If I can afford it, am I better off playing on my own money even though getting staked offers me basically no risk? I almost never turn down an opportunity for someone to put me into a game, and am wondering if I should choose my situations for getting staked a little better. Wondering what you guys think.

if you tend to win about twice as often as you lose for each session then play your own. otherwise take the freebie.
