The crowds were just huge at the WPO last weekend. Tourneys, satellites, side games, and the regular poker rooms were packed.

I'm in a late night rammin-jammin game that includes a very aggressive Brit, and a couple guys that I know.

Pick up a black 55 in the big blind. The aggressive Brit ("ab") open raises in early position, gets one cold caller, and I call.

Flop is A 8 5 of mixed suits. Perfect! I've got him. (I figure Brits don't even know about "presto". They just know about drinking pints of warm dark beer and getting in fights at Manchester United soccer games.) I check, "ab" bets, late caller folds, and I call.

Turn is a 2. I check, "ab" bets, I raise, and he calls.

River is a J. I bet and he raises. ??? AA, JJ, 88? AJ, AK?
I'm confused and call. He shows AJ, and I proudly turn over my hand ready to accept congrats, etc. Problem: my hand now consists of a black 5 6.

Wellllllll--haven't done THAT for a while. Need to re-read the chapter in HPFAP about knowing what your hole cards are.

My buddies stare at me. The "ab" stacks his chips and thinks; "Blimey, you Yanks play bad".
