Folding an overpair?

I hate having overpairs, i really do. When i fold them i feel bad because i know at this level people do all kinds of wierd crap. But when i call with them im always beat by a set. Should i call or fold this?

I think your problem here is the call on the flop that has led to the tricky decision on the turn. Either you're beat to a made hand and you should fold, or you're against a draw and should re-raise aggressively. Calling (and then checking on the turn) is asking to get raised, putting you in a tight spot. So what could this guy have?

You're beaten against 68 or 36, a higher PP or a set. You've pretty dead in the water here if that's the case. You're also an underdog to something like Ad6d (http://twodimes.net/h/?z=1034213).

Alternatively you could be up against a draw - a lone 6, two diamonds perhaps even something like two overcards with a 3-flush (http://twodimes.net/h/?z=1034214). If this is the case you need to play aggressively here. There's about 400 in the pot, and your stack is about 600, so the aggressive move is to re-raise all-in.

So is it fold or push on the flop? Assuming no reads, I think I would fold, though I'm not too confident that's the correct answer. Perhaps someone more experienced can take over here. I'm more confident that calling here is wrong.

Edit: Another possible move is to call here and then push on the turn if scare card (say a diamond or a 6) doesn't come. Though you have to be willing to check/fold if this happens.

Basically what I'm saying is perhaps a call on the flop isn't as bad, but you need to have a plan on how you're going to act on the turn. You've let your opponent take control of the hand, which has led to your tricky turn problem here.
