and played my first couple mtt's there....

so people somehow go broke in stars tournies faster than other sites? I swear...one tourney had 400 out within the first 30 minutes (1200 starting people).

just seems like there are crazy all ins/calls..resulting in tons of early exits.

I've been trying to give Stars a shot but I really hate their tourney structures - way too fast. And yes, people talk about fish on Party. The play on Stars is downright horrible.

Prepare to get raped by blinds. I enjoy it somewhat, but it's different, and it sucks getting nothing when you have to push/fold.

It really depends on the tournament buy-in. The $50 and up aren't so crazy.

All I've played are the $150s and big weekend tourneys. Party's structure is MUCH better.

so, would you say the blind structures are worse than paradise? or close?

I don't understand how people can think Stars is a "fast" structure comparitively....I have never had a problem getting plenty of play out of my chips compared to paradise and some other sites. Looking back on my paradise days (just a few months ago) I might as well have just rolled dice

I love this. After the first hour, half the field is gone. It's beautiful.

One method of judging the quickness of a structure is by estimating the number of hands you can play before being blinded out if you just post and fold. Here are my calculations:

Party Poker Super: 120
Party Poker Weekend: 140
Party Poker $100: 100
Poker Stars Wednesday $150: 99
Poker Stars Weekend: 99
Paradise $100: 99

The structure of Paradise and PokerStars is pretty much identical both in terms of blinds/antes, starting chips, and level time. The key factor for Party is that the blind levels are 20 minutes versus 15 minutes and the amount of the blinds start off much smaller. This makes their weekday tournaments with 1000 chips (versus 1500 at PokerStars or Paradise) even slower than the other sites, and their weekend tourneys with 1500 chips much slower.
