I have decided that I suck at MTTs... or at the very least, my skills in this lag behind those in cash games. So, I'm going to start playing the Empire $100 tourney every night and post crucial hands here.

Tonight's tournament, I couldn't find any cards and never got about 1715 in chips, but hung around until there were 3 tables left.

This hand came up with 23 players remaining, 10 in the money. Average stack around 3K, I had 1390...

KQo under the gun, blinds 75/150 and 7 players at the table. I raise to 425, folded to the BB who calls. Flop 5-6-7 rainbow, BB checks, I push for 965 more.

Comments?

Why committ 33% of your stack preflop, I either a) call and fold if I am reraised or push to take blinds when I get that low.

with 10xbb or less, you have to be pushing or folding this hand preflop.

I think the hand is pretty neutral if you push it preflop, depending if you think hands like A7 will call you. If the large stacks have been calling down smallish all-ins with weak hands, then I fold. If not, open push. All of your chips are moving together right now

Easy push for me 7-handed.

I dont agree that it is easy. At a table where players will call with any ace, it may be -CEV. Now it isnt -225 CEV, which is where you are most likely to sit after the blinds pass, so I agree most likely it is a push, but definitely not cut and dry IMO.

I would like to read why you think it is an easy push?

My cutoff had been 8.... I might have to have to up it to 10xBB.

Also I forgot to post results... guy called me with AT and I didn't help. Really a pretty good call on his part, this was obviously the kind of had I'd hoped he would fold.
