Pacific 30+3 so no converter

Blinds at 25/50

Important stacks:

MP2 1,011
Button 1,432
AliasMrJones (BB) 1,475

AliasMrJones is dealt A/images/graemlins/heart.gifA/images/graemlins/club.gif

Folded to MP2 who limps, Button raises to 100, AliasMrJones calls, MP2 calls.

Not my typical play, but the blinds go up fast in this tourney and I wanted to try to check/raise flop.

Flop is 3/images/graemlins/heart.gif2/images/graemlins/heart.gif2/images/graemlins/club.gif

I've seen MP2 play some junky cards, but haven't heard much from button. I check, MP2 checks, Button bets 150, I raise to 400, MP2 calls, button calls.

Turn is 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif

I check (mistake?), MP2 wakes up and bets 495, saving 16 for who knows what, Button folds. I think for most of my 45 seconds and...

What should I do here? Could MP2 have a 2? Flush? I'm behind both of those possibilities. A 3 or a 9? Hard to believe he'd call the check-raise 400 with nothing.

Comments on play so far and what my move should be appreciated.

I don't like how you played it, but you may as well call now. Even without the A of hearts, I'd look it up for that price.

Could you elaborate? I'm looking for constructive criticism, but without some explanation that isn't very helpful.

I suspect he refers to not raising preflop.

I don't like the flat call preflop. The purpose of flat calling in general is to get someone else to reraise. Here that seems unlikely. Trapping against 2 players postflop is dangerous.

You're actually ahead of JJ really often here so go ahead and call.

You've got AA as an overpair, 2 outs to the boat and probably 6-9 outs to the nut flush if your pair is no good. I make villain put in his last 16 chips and expect to win.

he's slightly behind TT though, but he has the pot-odds to call
