Yeah, I think it's ok. I think you likely had the best hand when the chips went in and he made a flush on the river... I could also see you winning over a lower pocket pair.

Interestingly, if he had 2 overs to your JJ and they were both diamonds, I think you might have actually been a slight dog after the flop. I'll have to check Cardplayer's odds calculator (cardplayer is down now), but I'd like to see.

Ran the odds... I gave villian A9 of diamonds. You're only a 56.5% favorite on the flop with villian holding that. You're much larger of a favorite on the turn, and this is quite likely irrelevant to the hand anyway, but I thought it was interesting. Anyway, I'd love to find out what happened, hopefully you'll get some other replies though.

FWIW I probably play the hand the same as you did.

Make it 740 on the flop?

I don't know, just seems to be a tough spot if an overcard flops on the turn.

Pretty standard.

I would've played this hand almost exactly the same as you did. Maybe a slightly larger pre-flop raise, but it probably wouldn't have made a difference in the hand. I would've played the flop and turn exactly the same as you did.

I go all in on the flop in response to the villain's raise. Don't mess around - take the chips and run. I think you made it too easy for the draw to call on the flop - and you certainly didn't have enough left to prevent a call on the turn. A push on the flop makes his call an error. - w

Good call. Hero had A5d. He was on a straight and flush draw.

This actually makes him a 60/40 favorite after the flop (and only a 64/36 dog after the turn). I still don't think you could have played the hand very differently, but it's interesting to know the odds on these things, IMO.
