View Full Version : New Afghani Head of State

Given the assassination of the resistance leader, there has been talk this weekend of installing the former king as leader in exile. I know those folks have some longevity in their genes but I think once you're over 80, it's time to consider retiring, not becoming a head of state. So I was thinking, who would be the best person to install as leader in exile? Then it him me. Rudy Giuliani.

He's a proven leader. He took on the mob. He took on the pornographers in Times Square. He took on crime in the city. I walked from the village to the 80s last summer with 5k in my pocket and no fear. You can't do that in Kabul. He also is about to see his term as mayor expire and needs something to do. A little cancer and a ball-breaking wife dissuaded him from becoming a senator, but that wasn't his metier any more than say McCarthur's.

And speaking of McCarthur, he is the poster child for an American leader installing himself as head of a foreign state. He conquered Japan, but is considered a hero there. Look how they're doing now as a citizenry as opposed to say the 30s. A free productive society. Let's not forget that the biggest victims of the Taliban have been the citizens of Afghansitan themselves. After we defeat the present regime, we have to avoid our recurring error of letting anyone fill the power vacuum in a foreign state. Time to go with a name we can trust. Rudy.

It could work.
