My favorite regular item was always fruit snacks.

However, on days after my family got Chinese take-out for dinner my mom would pack me those little fried noodles you put in wonton soup instead of chips. That kicked ass.

The original ones were the best...they were all sticky. I could usually sell them for enough money to get an ice cream sancwich.

those kraft crackers with the red stick you used to spread peanut butter.

for anyone that's ever had either Bissli (http://www.osem.co.il/Eng/_Articles/Article.asp?CategoryID=41&ArticleID=37) or Bamba, (http://www.osem.co.il/Eng/_Articles/Article.asp?CategoryID=42&ArticleID=38) well, it isn't close.

The proper procedure was to pierce it through the bottom with the straw. Then for added fun you blew into the straw, instead of sucking, thus forcing the drink to defy gravity and shoot into your mouth.

Sort of a "shot gun" for grade schoolers. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oatmeal cream pies are a classic.

I brought a Lunchable to work today. I'm 28.

By the way, Lunchables have become way sophisticated. The one I have has chicken strips with a shake-n-bake-type bag and seasoning. It actually sounds like more work than I really want to do.

This is correct. Somehow it came up in a conversation I had with a friend about a month ago. He had no idea about piercing it through the bottom. I was shocked and appalled.

Most of you are likely too young to remember but hopefully Jake can back me up on this...

Hostess Ding Dongs.... back before they came in the plastic they were wrapped in foil.... for some reason they tasted better back then.

Also, Snack Pac was much better when in came in a can with the little pull top tab...many of my friends cut their tongues licking the chocolately goodness off those metal pull tops....ahhhhh for the good old days! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I really can't comment on any of this. My mom made the worst lunches ever. She was a terrible sandwich maker. They were always soggy and had too much of the wrong things and too little of the right things. She also always put in fruit even though she knew i wouldn't eat it. And she wouldn't buy the little bags of chips. She used to buy big bags and then put some in a sandwich baggy. That and $.15 for a milk was my lunch all through grade school.
