I am applying for car financing on a dealer website. The browser does not show the padlock that says the site is secure, but it has something called a thawte SSL Certificate.

Will my information be secure?

Thawte is a big SSL issuer. You should be able to click that image and it will tell you about the certificate.

Is the url https:// ? If so it's secure.
