Just bought the tickets yesterday on ebay. Me and 2 friends are making the trip from Iowa/Kansas to North Carolina. Gonna be a sweet road trip, I can't wait.

Made sure to get a hotel with high speed internet too. Man this is gonna be a blast.

Tickets to the US open - 175 bucks

Gas to get to the US open - 120 bucks (my share)

Hotel with high-speed internet so I can make enough money from party n00bs to make the trip free - 150 bucks

So, you're one of those guys... huh?

But, really, I'm jealous. Have fun.

Nice, have fun. I went to the final round when Tiger won at Bethpage in '02(?).

I'm jealous. I was actually planning on going, but it seems to have fallen through.

With any luck though we won't have to see Tiger at the top of the leaderboard /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Go Phil.

That was a classic!

I was at the '87 Masters when Larry Mize won it. I was only there on Saturday but only paid 25 bucks myself. I doubt that I'll ever get back there.

I could have had free tickets from work, but unfortunately I have to go out of town /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Wackity,
Whare is your hotel? I live about 2 - 2 1\2 hours away and am thinking about staying in a hotel (I have Saturday and Sunday tickets).

By the way, I also have 2 ground tickets for sale for Thursday and Friday if anyone is interested.

I thought this was going to be a post about how you qualified to play in the U.S. Open, but going is cool too.

WOW, you're old!!! I was there too, and can confirm the $25 ticket. Left Reno at 8:00 wednesday night parked 50 ft from the front entrance, bought tickets and walked the fairways before anyone was on the course on Thursday. Danny Edwards (or was it David?) went deep, -6 through the first 14 then imploded. Bruce Devlin had the lead with a 2 under 70 after day one. It was cold as hell, I loved it.

Enjoy yourself!!

Congressional, 1997. Not that interesting, except for the quality and quantity of women. Almost as good as the Phoenix Open I was at in '94.
