I'm planning an "All-Nighter Weekend of Poker". My goal is to play in every poker room in Las Vegas that offers Hold Em within a span of 24-48 hrs....This is probably happened in February or March,...Here's my tentative plan:

** As soon as I get off of work, I'll grab something to eat, then out of the door I go....My plan is to hit all the Stations Casinos First (Boulder, Sunset, Palace, Texas)....then hit The Horseshoe..followed by the Palms

**then I would make my way up the Strip..Starting with Circus....then in order....Stardust, Flamingo, Monte Carlo, Excalibur, Mandalay Bay...then I would finish the night at the Mirage and Bellagio......My plan is only play at these places for 1 -2 hrs..then move on...

** I'm going to stick with Low Limits (3-6 1-4-4-8).....I'm sure I'll be tired by the time I reach Mirage/Bellagio, and I I don't need to be fishing my money to the pros....

**My goal is try and be ahead when I'm done, but more importantly....I think this will be fun...it's something different, something I think few have done...

** If you're in the Las Vegas area, I plan on wearing a white Michael Vick Jersey, so if you see me, make sure you say hi...

** My only concern is some poker rooms may have long waiting lists, which may cut into my poker time...in which case I may have to cut a few sessions shorter than expected.

I'll give you more information on this adventure as I get closer to the date, including an iternerary. Also, to all the Vegas Residents, did I miss a poker room? I think I listed them all..

Thanks....

Don't do this and forget that the Sahara and Luxor also have poker rooms. There may also be some small poker rooms downtown that I'm not familiar with.

To help you out, these are the casinos on the Strip which definitely have poker rooms:

Mandalay Bay
Luxor
Excalibur
Monte Carlo
Bellagio
Flamingo
Mirage
Stardust
Circus Circus
Sahara

Downtown the El Cortez spreads a game also. I also think that the silver nugget spreads one, balt should call and ask.

Dont forget the Orleans.

Speaking of downtown:

Does the Plaza still have its poker "room"?

Does the Nevada Palace still have a room? If so, well, sorry, and you must get a comp and eat there. GL.

The plaza use too have poker; 7-stud and holdem but a year ago I dropped in and everyone was playing pan-9 or something like that. The plaza use to have a small no-limit tournament but that is gone. Don't know if the small limit games still go or not - some local should know.

You can't forget Sam's Town! This is going to be tougher than you think. Good Luck /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

I remember hearing that one of the Arizona Charlie's properties had a room also.

The plaza is pan only now that they finally disbursed their 7cs jackpot I think.

You might want to check out Blackjack Autumn by Barry Meadows. In it, Barry (a card counter) plays blackjack in every single Nevada casino that spreads it in a 30 day period. Nice light entertaining read.

I know it's going to be a tough proposition, but that's why you do stuff like this...for the challenge of it...Let me be clear..I'm not going to playing 48 straight hrs...just as long as I play hold em in every poker room in Vegas within a span of 48 hrs (36 hrs...in reality)...that's what I'm shooting for....

Also, I forgot about the Orleans...

Here's my list of rooms for all of the places to play poker in the Las Vegas Valley (BTW, Silver Nugget had a nice room IMHO, but it is no more). Some of these rooms could be closed, but I would be very surprised for I have played in all of them in the not too distant past.........

1) Flamingo

2) Sahara

3) Mandalay Bay

4) Luxor

5) Excalibur

6) Monte Carlo

7) Bellagio

8) The Mirage

9) Stardust

10) Circus Circus

11) Plaza

12) El Cortez

13) Binion's

14) Poker Palace

15) New Town Tavern

16) Palms

17) Orleans

18) Palace Station

19) Arizona Charlie's (west side location only)

20) Texas Station

21) Boulder Station

22) Sam's Town

23) Sunset Station

24) Nevada Palace (poker tournaments only)

I had planned on making a post on the B&M forum of 2+2 in about a week or so. I was going to call it "24 rooms in 24 hours". Now that Batl999 is planning his adventure, I think I'll wait and enjoy his trip report before embarking on my own journey through the valley of dreams.

I was thinking about getting info on comps, rakes, etc., if I decide to follow through on my own post.

I'm looking forward to reading about the adventures in each room from Balt999.

Best of Luck

I've heard about that book, but I was more inspired by "Blackjack Diaries" by Stuart Perry about his three month blackjack adventure..Great book!! Highly recommended.

Thanks for the list....I'll skip the Nevada Palace cause I don't plan on playing tournaments....I did play stud in the Plaza, but I didn't see any hold em, just Pan...so I may skip this as well.

Like I said...I need time to plan this out...I'm looking at a Feb or Mar time frame to tackle this..

My understaning is that the Plaza had two stud games going tonight. One still going as I write this. You are right about the hold'em there. I have not seen a hold'em game there in ages (not exactly my favorite place to hang out anyway :-)

Can't wait to see your trip report in Feb-March.

Best of Luck

Is he the same Barry Meadows who is also the author of a couple of excellent books on horseracing?

Yes, it is the same Barry Meadow.

He also is the publisher of the excellent "Meadow's Racing Monthly" newsletter. He is one of the most honest & "tell it like it is" guys in all of gaming, IMHO. A real nice guy too.

Best of Luck

I think one of you Vegas guys should go with him.

Mobes,

I think it would be cool to hang with the Balt man on his amazing journey. I don't know if he wants company that day or not though.

On the day when the Balt999 express starts steamrolling over all of the Vegas cardrooms, I may well be out of town (but would enjoy reading about other 2+2ers who are able to make the sojourn wih Balt999 if he chooses not to go it alone).

It sure would be cool to read two player's perspective from the same journey. Sort of a Siskel & Ebert do Vegas :-)

Is the Riviera room still open? Just to be thorough.

I prefer to do this alone...just want to feel what's it's going to be like...And as I think about it, this appears to be a very daunting task, but that's why you need challenges in life..

I'll definately put out an itinerary of my journey when I organize...just in case someone wants to see me...although the only obstacle I think I'm going to face is long waiting lists....but then again, if this was easy, more would try it....

The Rivera poker room was closed about a year ago. It was replaced with a high-limit slot room.
