The SPM went to the Hollywood Casino today. Normally he would head for the 10-20 Hold'em game at Harrah's in East Chicago, IN on a Saturday. But, they beat his brains in on Friday and he just couldn't face the drive or the players. So it was the 5-10 Hold'em game in Aurora, IL. The SPM gave the game a 3 stack commitment, and promised himself he would play from the Valley of Patience (VoP). The Hollywood poker room closes at 8:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

What good is a promise, if you can't break it? The VoP was a lonely and all the fun was in Any2Card Town (A2CT). All fold to the SPM who had the button. He raised with BIG CARDS no pair. Master Soh in the small blind, having all the edge in the game, called with a 43 suited. When you got the edge, you don't need pot odds. On the turn, Master Soh was holding the nuts and had the SPM roped tied and hung out to dry.

Winning hands for the day where form group nothing, hands like Little Lick, Jack Benny and the Montana Banana, you got the picture. The SPM surely wanted to stay in the VoP but they were having so much fun in A2CT. Flopping the top two pair and pounding it to the river the SPM met, Ms Oriental Express. She ran him down, like the dirty dog he was, she had a five something big off. It was a bottom pair of fives after the flop and turn. They became trips on the river. That ended the residents in the VoP for the SPM.

Ms Oriental Express was running over the field, with the magic she got from the Tilt Fairy. She was amazing! But, what was even more amazing. She wasn't making any forward chip progress with her chip stacks. How do you win the most # of hands and have no increase in stacks. Where did those chips go? Maybe the Emperor Cesar was taxing her. He would always check the nuts to Ms Express on the river. Then she would bet and he would just call her. They would laugh at each other but the SPM, was not laughing. His chips were circling the drain. The Emperor made about three re-buys. Maybe checking and just calling with nuts is expensive in the long run? We'll need a calculator to figure that one out.

Everyone who started with a Monster hand, would be crushed by rags, round after endless round. Finally the SPM said if you can't beat-em join-em. It worked, after seven hours misery, the SPM had found some of the Tilt Fairy's magic. Up a stack and out the door. Who was that capped man?

SPM,...solid play gone amuck... :-)
