there is no conceivable reason why you would call this.

It's early, you have AQ, you missed the flop, out of position on one of TWO opponents. I just hate this hand. Check/fold this and save money.

Ok, let's make it a bit closer. What if the villain only had 500 left after the flop, so the call was only 250. Would you call?

If villian had only 500 postflop, youd probably have moved allin to begin with.
