It's bad enough that the SPM must listen to his own baloney at the Hold'em. It's the curse of being a celebrity, what you say will come back to haunt you. Example, the best starting hand in Hold'em, the computer hand, it wins 80% of the time. The SPM, if he's said it once he's said it a thousand times at the Hold'em table. Do you have any idea how many satisfied students have crack off the SPM's pocket rockets with the computer hand.

Now comes one of the resident 10-20 pro's from Hollywood Casino, Master Soh and his philosophy of the edge. The discussion begins with the SPM saying, "carrying eight grand into a 15-30 game is crazy. The average player should not be carrying enormous amounts of cash into a casino, home game, or on a date with Ms Wonderful." We're adding a few lines hear of course. The SPM continues, the average player should only commit X amount of dollars to a 5-10 or 10-20 game. After losing that amount it's time to pack it end and come back another day.'

Master Soh, disagrees and quotes John Feeney, "if you have an edge in the game and your playing well invest more." We're quoting with literary license of course. "No says the SPM the average player should not invest more, go home call it a day." Master Soh says "No..." How many times does the SPM need to say "THE AVERAGE PLAYER" before Master Soh understands. Never is the answer. He was stuck on the Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah Soh edge philosophy. The SPM finally got him to stop by saying he understood what he was saying.

SPM,...how much is enough for the average player maybe $2500...

"SPM,...how much is enough for the average player maybe $2500..."

Sounds good to me.

SPM,

All I can say is that I learned a lot of important unpublished concepts (not even in Poker Essays 3) from you. One of them is to call more often with unsuited cards, often called "double suited," because you have two ways to make a flush.

Thanks

by Soh

p.s. ...hard to flop a flush when it's "double suited"...

SPM,...play long and prosper...

Must give credit to Soh. He quotes with class. Must not give me credit for that idea though. It's an idea which is soh right in theory. This is what Soh knows. Soh does SPM. But certain bits of reality may intervene. Soh knows this too, though maybe a reminder from SPM was soh much in order. Soh does SPM. Soh does DS, who deserves the credit if any author does. I know not Soh, but tell him yo for me.
