1. It's not a steal. It's a raise for value.

2. Bet the flop. Evaluate if he raises.

3. I call the push of the turn.

The converter has messed this up, I think. Could you clean it up a little?

I wouldn't characterize this as a steal, BTW. When the SB limps against my BB and I have KQ, I'm raising more for value.

Okay... It's a raise for value and I can't edit it however we both checked the flop and when he bet the turn I pushed and he called.

I think you played it fine. Betting the flop here is probably a good play here. You've got a healthy stack that can stand some action if your continuation bet is called.

I didn't bet the flop because I was worried that villain called with a weak Ace. I was right, he did. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Ace-Nine. /images/graemlins/frown.gif I don't think a flop bet would have got him of top pair, however, if he raised me I could have folded and avoided the suckout.

The point is that he's far more likely to have missed than to have flopped any pair, much less an ace. You should be betting most flops here anyway. The fact that you made a pair just makes things that much nicer.

As the hand went, you can't get away from kings up when you're heads up, so you just take the beat.
