Can i think of rebuys like this?
you are at a 10 player $10 SNG with rebuys. Standard payouts. Everyone starts with X chips. You go all in 1st hand, and lose. According to ICM, my EV for rebuying is $10.153, more than the $10 cost to rebuy, so it is +EV to rebuy. (.0923*$110=$10.153) Obviously, that would make it -EV to be in a tournament and have your opponent rebuy back into the game.
Also, it is +EV for you to have other people to rebuy before the tournament starts, while you dont rebuy (it is -EV for you to buy in for $20 and get 2X chips)
Is this correct?
Can i extrapolate this and say that its always +EV to rebuy in a tourney if you bust, even in multi table tourneys? I'm thinking of the $2 & $5 turbos on stars. My strategy has always been if I bust, i'm done - maybe this isnt optimal.
