I've been playing with my Turbo Texas Hold 'em game a lot recently and have come upon some very disappointing results:
I set the condition to mirror my B&M:
6-12 Texas Hold 'em (fairly tough game)
$4 rake up to 10%, with a $1 Jackpot drop and I usually tip $0.50 per hand that I win.
I also play a fair amount of 3-6 (less tough, more draw-outs)
Anyway, only 500 hands in the 6-12 game(about 20 hours of real-time play) every person save 1 was down and down fairly hard. Granted the one guy was up about $400 (not me), but this is quite disturbing.
Am I finally finding out what everyone already knows?? That this rake structure I have make these games nearly unbeatable in the long term unless some lousy players are in the game?
Or am I overreacting to a game "simulation"?
After these 20 hours, the casino had about $1500, which means that even the best player at the table was only the second best player....with no one able to out-perform the house.
So I guess another question is - is it better to play 6-12 against a tougher lineup (where I am still one of the better players, but only 3-4 people see the flop) or play the weaker 3-6 game where 6 see the flop, but the rake % hits you even harder?
