Here is a hand from a Step 2 (Original), 5th pays nothing.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t300 (5 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

SB: Villain (t2150)
BB: Hero (t1348)
UTG (t1880)
MP (t3012)
Button (t1610)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6/images/graemlins/spade.gif 6/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
3 folds, Villain is all in (2150), Hero?

Villain seems to have been pushing a lot lately. Should I call this?

You only have about 4.5 BB, 4 after the SB next hand. You soon won't have enough to make a move, and you really want first or second (which move you on to the next step), which you'll need to win some hands to get.

I'd obviously feel better about this with eights or nines, but I'd call and expect to be shown K5-K9 or similar 80% of the time. In other words, I'd expect to be a favorite (albeit a small one) most of the time.
