Is there that little to discuss? It is a clear fold? I'm just looking for some confirmation as I think I've folded overpair <3x over the 500 200+15's I've played.

I'll try and get us started. Since CO is solid I'm putting him on AK, AA-JJ, and to a lesser extend AQ, KQ, and TT after he calls my pre flop 3x BB raise. After he calls my slightly more than 1/2 pot sized bet on the flop I'm limiting his range to AKd, AA-TT (he really should have raised with AA-QQ but I won't exclude them as possibiltiies). On the turn I can't see anything that I beat, I'm only chopping with the JJ he has like 2% of the time so I check and fold.

Is this standard, am I missing anything?

I play lower limits but if the player is as solid as you say and the only hand I would put him on that you are ahead of is AK diamond. My guess would be that he hit his set of tens on the flop.

Well if you think the villain has AK diamonds on that flop... AKd is ahead of JJ.

There is no way a solid player is calling 300 with ATo.

The way I usually deal with this situation is to raise more preflop, like 500ish, then push on the flop, which would basically be a pot sized bet, as th co has only 1000 left. It seems to work well as most people arent willing to push in on a draw unless he has AKd or something like that.

Pocket tens seem pretty likely here to me. He just calls on the flop to avoid chasing you out in case you're trying to steal the pot with AK or something like that. When the 3rd diamond comes on the turn he goes all-in to keep from giving you a free shot at a flush draw, in case you have one big diamond.

I suppose he could be doing this with pocket aces as well, just calling pre-flop to trap you. Personally I don't think I'd call in this case with 3 people left to play behind me, but just go all-in and hope you had enough of a hand to come with me. (Then again, I haven't played above the $30+3's yet...)

So, I'd guess your fold was a good one here. Don't know if I would have had the discipline to make it at the time, but after the fact it looks wise to me.

i think it's a tough fold, but i think it's right given your read.

you'd really expect villain to fold AQ/TT/99 to your raise? i would call that "squeaky tight," not "solid."

yeah if you think villian is this tight always then thats not solid thats a leak, as for me unless he gets tricky and likes to smooth call with AA or KK which is possible if opponent is tricky/solid at this level then i think you are ahead here way too often to fold, i bet 700 on the flop and push the turn, i dont like your play at all.

Edit: i think his most likely holding is 99 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif, i guess TT is possible but you still have enough outs where it is ok.
