OK, I'm an uber-dork, no doubt about it, and in my little computer pod, I have both a laptop and my dual-2001fp desktop setup.

I also have two wireless optical mice, one to control each of these...just wondering if there's some kind of contraption that would allow me to have just one mouse that I could toggle back and forth so that it would alternatively connect to the laptop, or the desktop...worst case scenario, i can keep switching back and forth between my mice...but one mouse would be nice.

KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) switch does that. Plug mouse into KVM, KVM into each Computer, and toggle switch on KVM.

Assuming both computers have network access, you want this:
http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/

or you can use a KVM. But this is cooler.

HO LE CRAP -- THIS IS THE COOLEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN.

sorry to yell, but seriously, this Synergy thing is just that cool -- i'm gliding seamlessly from my dual 2001fps down to my laptop with the same mouse. unreal.
what a post.
thanks again.
