10/20 6 on Party:

UTG(31/24) raise 6-handed, CO(42/25) 3bets, you are in the SB and BB is TAG.

Whats the weakest hands you play here and do you cap all ?

Ok I'm trying to reply to more threads that make me think. I don't play 10/20 and am not used to the aggression at that level, but my first thought had me sticking to Jacks or better, plus AK - capping all of them. Maybe TT? I'm not sure how low to go.

77, ats, ajo, kqs

maybe not aj and kqs 'cause they are dominated and harder to play and these guys have stats seeming they play tough/aggro

First instinct: 99/AJs/AQo/KQs

Here are my assumptions for the raiser and reraiser's respective hand ranges:

Hand 1: { AA-55, AKs-A5s, KQs-K9s, QJs-Q9s, JTs-J9s, T9s, AKo-A9o, KQo-KTo, QJo-QTo, JTo }
Hand 2: { AA-66, AKs-A7s, KQs-KTs, QJs-QTs, JTs, AKo-A9o, KQo-KJo }

I pokerstoved some threshold hands to determine which hands have +EV hot&cold:

equity (%) win (%) / tie (%)
33.7418 % [ 00.33 00.00 ] { 88 }
31.9614 % [ 00.32 00.00 ] { 77 }

35.5666 % [ 00.33 00.03 ] { AJs }
32.2643 % [ 00.29 00.03 ] { ATs }

36.2945 % [ 00.34 00.03 ] { AQo }
32.0500 % [ 00.29 00.03 ] { AJo }

32.2736 % [ 00.30 00.02 ] { KQs }
29.4121 % [ 00.28 00.02 ] { KJs }

Looks like I was close. Notice that KQs, AJo, ATs and 77 are close and would be +EV against a looser hand range.

P.S. Take the results with a grain of salt. You will have poor position and reverse implied odds with some hands like 88/77. You also an additonal .75 BB in the pot to subsidize your equity.

Interesting take, but wouldn't those hands perform better(especially KQs) relative to their Hot&Cold equity compared to 77?

I like that. I totally gave the 3bettor a ridiculously narrow range, which I'm sure is not the case given the stats and the texture of the game.

AQo and 99 are good and the next group of hands are borderline.

Coldcalling a tight range of hands could lead to having my hand reverse engineered so I would probably just cap everything. Mandatory cap if UTG might release his hand.

Yes, I should have noted that I cap any hand I play here.
