Final table, $55 $2500 Guaranteed at Empire. I entered this because I thought it was a 5K Guaranteed. I suck at reading and computing odds today, apparently. I also suck at posting in the right forum, but this was kinda SNG'ish.

Anyway, there's 5 left, paying 900/600/420/300/240. The blinds are 400/800 and stacks are like this:

Seat 1: guffa ( $10640 )
Seat 4: 2+2 ( $14757 )
Seat 5: Adanthar1 ( $11002 )
Seat 8: flick53 ( $6664 )
Seat 9: zamr00 ( $16937 )

I don't know that SB's a 2+2'er at the time, but he's tight and seems pretty decent and is one of the two people I kinda didn't want to see here.

It's folded to him and he raises to 2300. I laugh at his puny raise since I have the mighty A4o and push, and he folds.

Next hand, folded to him on the button and he open raises to 2300 again. I have 66 in the SB and have him covered by 50 chips, so I push one more time.

Extra special bonus heads up hand since that's the weakest part of my game in multis:

Total number of players : 2
Seat 5: Adanthar1 ( $44663 )
Seat 9: zamr00 ( $15337 )

Third hand. Do you think calling your preflop raise and then checking the flop means that he was unlikely to have hit the flop at all outside of trips?

It was the second of about ten hands I raised with HU he called at all so I was kinda worried about a CR.

Notwithstanding the fact that you hit your draw, it was pretty weak, so being pushed off of it wouldn't have been the end of the world, no?

Basically, so yeah, without a 2, diamond, or 6 on the turn I was done.

I'd like to hear about the turn and river...is a raise on the turn all that bad an idea or does it only get called by an 8?

The turn too! Now I'm in over my head.

I might be fool here, but I think if you push on the turn he may well call either a with a draw or with a pair, thinking you are on a draw.

If he is just on a draw, you won't get paid on the river if he misses. If he has a pair and the river is scary (another spade?), he might not pay off then.

With so much in the pot and so little left in his stack, I don't see how you could ever fold, and I wouldn't expect him to not bet the river if he has you beat, so you probably can't save any chips if you are going to lose.

As to the 34 hand:

Villian calls preflop, putting him on a good range of hands, its not overly likely he has an 8. His turn bet could very well be an attempt to snag the pot given your check on the flop. Did you think about raising there? When the Qs hits, I would think i had the best hand. I like the bet, but i would loathe a RR.

Maybe a smaller raise, in preparation to lay to a RR - assuming it is an 8, is good? who knows, i seem to suck at MTT's, lol.

A mix of my two other online nicks, and some dude I found in a Google search for 'lawyer' and thought he looked cool, respectively /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I wasn't thinking about saving chips but about how to get his into the pot. Not sure if raising the turn works better, but I was hoping he wouldn't put me on an 8 if I called. That may've been wishful thinking, though.

pokerlaw: look at his stack - I put him all in on the river.
