Mason calculated that it's possible for a good player who consistently plays well to have a 4000 Hr. losing streak.
Many mathematical conclusions are of only theoretical interests but have very little practical applications.
The above deduction is one of them.
If one crosses a street many times, there is a mathematical probability of being run over by a car, truck.
If one is on an airplane, there is a probability of being involved in a wreck.
If one is in an automobile, there is a probabiltiy of being involved in an automobile accident.
I'm hypothesizing that the probability of the outcome from Mason's calculation is less than that of any of the other events occurring. By focusing on theoretical conclusions, one can literally "freeze" his activities-being a non-productive individual. So,one should lean toward focusing/concentrating on practical deductions.
