Is this casino game beatable? Are there ways to get an edge if you can see the cards of another player? Can you recommend a book for this game?

It is not beatable. I don't think knowing the other players cards will give you an edge that balances the house edge.

Only if the progressive jackpot is high enough.

From wizardofodds.com:
"I've been asked lots of times if an advantage can be gained by sharing information with other players. Although the rules forbid this in the land casinos there are multi-player Internet casinos where this could be done very easily by phone. However don't get your hopes up. According to the paper 'An Analysis of Caribbean Stud Poker' by Peter Griffin and John M. Gwynn Jr., which appears in the book Finding the Edge in the perfect situation of having 7 colluding players it would be possible to narrow down the dealer's unseen cards to just 16. Using a computer to analyze all 1820 possible 4-card sets out of 16 the player would have an advantage of 2.3%. In a six player game the house would still have an edge of 0.4%. Unfortunatley the Internet casinos usually only have 3 player spots."

In years past, whatever I wanted to learn about basic strategies on online games I would go to www.thewizardofodds.com (http://www.thewizardofodds.com) and learn it. You see, I started online advantadge gambling with BJ as many others have done. At some point in time I switched to advantadge (or what is what I want to think) sportsbetting. I left BJ completely. Once I thought about playing some online BJ again for fun and just try to brea even. I visited the same site but apparently it was now only a site set up to make some easy affiliate dollars. I felt like I had lost a friend:)
Later, I learned that the Wizard of Odds (Michael Shackleford) was now working for Pinbet's casino. Never bothered again to find a similar site. Thanks alot for the info anyway.
