why does someone limp there with AA/KK?

I have no clue. Seems like a decent player though. He later said he had Jacks but I feel it was pocket 8's or some pockets like that and he was making a play. I wanted to call so bad cuz of curiosity but it would have been a bad play to call I feel.

I am sure he had a medium pair at best, and I am sure I would call. Villain is never showing a hand better than QQ here. Whether you want to flip a coin for your stack is up to you.

He said it was jacks because that is the best hand he could have reasonably held, and a good choice when lying about your hand.

Our stacks compared to the rest of the tourny is hes 5th, Im third if that makes a difference

Since we're all in agreement that he's not going to have AA/KK here, it comes down to this: you're almost always in a coinflip situation vs. a medium pair. If you lose the flip, you still have ~15xBB left. If you win the flip, you have a commanding chip lead. I'd take that chance.
