I've always been able to have 12 tables open while running Pokertracker and Playerview with no problems whatsoever but lately the computer lags terribly as soon as I have more than 4 tables open. My question is: how can I detect what causes this lag? Is there a software program I can run?

The lag only happens when I have Playerview open. I tried at the Playerview forums but they did not know the solution to the problem.

I've run Adaware and an antivirus program - no help.

Might it be because your PT database is getting larger and larger, slowing PV down? Try running PV+PT with an empty PT database.

Good idea, Orca. I'll try that when I get home - I do run it with four rather large databases.

I tried running a new empty database and removing the other ones and it solved nothing. The computer is still lagging (mouse moving slowly).

Anyone have another idea as to why this problem has come about and how to solve it? Can it be hard disk related? The one I have now is 2 years old (Western Digital, 7200).

Maybe you are forcing imports to frequently. What is your timer set at? Are you moving the hands to another location on your pc after the import? I found that stopping the timer and clicking the force import button myself every once and awhile helped me.

I have it se to 30 minutes. And I frequently force import faster than that.

When I look in Task Manager I see the processor is at 100% almost all the time. That would seem to indicate the processor is not fast enough (2.66 Mhz), would it not?

just cause your cpu is running 100%, doesn't mean it's incapable. often the cpu runs 100% on simple tasks just to get them done faster. check to see what program is eating up that cpu (although it would appear to be PV no?).

Yes, it does seem to be PV that is eating away since it only happens when PV is running. But noone else seems to experience this problem and my computer is not exactly outdated (2.66 Mhx processor, 512 MB Ram). So I am a bit puzzled to say the least.

Is it only when you use Playerview also? Version 1.15? If so, did it happen after you installed this version or did the problem exist before that?

Have you tried posting about this on the Poker Tracker forums? Maybe someone there can help you.

Im having the same problems - computer running slowly even to the point of the mouse jerking and sometimes even crashing when I run PT.

I didnt add playerview though, it just started happening a few weeks ago.
