My real question is: Should I have bet the turn?

If I had, it seems like anyone with overcards (except an OESD) would have to fold or make a -EV call. Is this right? I guess I didnt want to get raised or c/r by player with a 9 or a J. As it is I think I may have allowed Villain to draw out on me for free.

Also, please let me know what I am doing wrong that I get that "#A500AF" or whatever before the word "Villain" in the Preflop description.

why not, you have no decent draw nor any reason to think this possibility will occur frequently

Good chance the CO is on overcards that don't contain a Jack. It's a bet that needs to be made. At this point you still have to think the pot is yours, and reevaluate if someone tells you otherwise.

Not raising preflop is an egregious error. You should bet the turn to knock out naked aces or other overcards like KT. I don't like how this hand is played at all.

You have to bet this turn IMO

Pretty weak IMHO. Maybe I'm turning LAG.

I agree that in that position, you're trying to win with your 88s unimproved. I'd raise them every time.
