Villain is 36/14 with 25% go to showdown 75% win at showdown. Is this river a routine fold? Should I do anything esle different?

BUMP, PLease, I get into this situation all the time. River is a super scary card. I check, villain bets big, I fold. Is this correct? SHould I make a blocking bet?

why did you show weakness. most good players will take down that pot if you check an ace to them. bet bet bet

he didn't check an ace to them, he checked a 3

after the turn call it looks like you're behind. probably a flopped straight, two pair or set. I don't see anyone who beats aces calling that turn unless they're on a big draw ie open end straight or flush which they probably cuaght. after that turn call against a good opponent I'd check fold almost anyriver other than a jack. against a poor opponenet things change...

I lay it down. I think he probably flopped a flush draw with an Ace. You made it relatively cheap to draw to his flush so if he catches just respect it and go on. Without some really, REALLY good reads here I can't see you ahead after the turn. $10 is exactly the amount I would bet if I hit the flush and was trying to sell this hand.

I cannot think of any hand you are ahead of here, so I probably fold as well. Though, if you think villain might bluff if you show weakness by checking, you could try a blocking bet (obviously folding to a raise).

is this really a big bet? 10 into ~30 pot. Looks like a value bet to me. I fold, but mainly because there is not much I can beat here that would make this bet. A bluff should expect to get called too often for 10...
