View Full Version : Ok is this a result of opponent action tilt on my part? A move I made.

I can't STAND IT when people make huge stupid raises like this guy did. Most of the time when people make such raises, you see 88 and under, so my think is, push overtop, trap him with his little pair and double up, right? the call behind was from a LAG so I wasn't worried about him. Thoughts?

Sorry but how could you tell it was a LAG at level 1.. or had you played with him before? To be honest, again I think I fold here, similar to the $215 hand posted elsewhere, which is very similar to this one, albeit facing an all-in, rather than making one.

Yes I had seen him before.

33s and 215s are very different... that's why I make this post, even though I read the other one.

(and I think you are probably right that I should have folded)

Well, to be honest I think I still fold, he's going to call with 1900 chips behind and he's just as likely to have two overs as 88/99 or whatever, or have me crushed completely, and I don't see the need for gambling at this point. Heck, if he even has QJs then I'm not enough of a favourite to call here.

Now that I have had time to think it over, I think you are completely right.

I think this was just more of a "I hate people that make stupid raises like that (21x Bb, seriously!?) thing than a smart play.

I just laugh at muppets like that, because you know for sure you'll catch them at some point later in the tournament (or someone else will get there first, but eh, that's just luck of the draw), as you know he'll call if you get AA in this position and shove it, too. Don't get me wrong, I would shove with AA/KK/QQ here. JJ I'd have to think about.

I dont think this is the time for you to make a big move with this hand. It is very early on in the tournment and likely you will be up against something that has you dominate or at best a coin flip. Choose a better time to make this move.
