View Full Version : A situation I keep finding myself in

I multitable 4 at a time, not the most impressive around here, but I've only recently started to play NL SnGs.

How can multitablers (8, 12, 16?) have any reads at all?

I find myself trying to gauge what the hell is going on by the size of my opponent's bet, but more than often I feel I'm being bluffed.

In any case, I find myself in the following situation a lot, and I wonder what 2+2 would do.

Other hands that I fall into the following situation with obviously include: AK and AJ (AJ not so much, I muck EP/MP in early lvls)

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (10 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

BB (t465)
UTG (t625)
UTG+1 (t865)
Hero (t755)
MP1 (t500)
MP2 (t1135)
MP3 (t665)
CO (t250)
Button (t1300)
SB (t1440)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, A/images/graemlins/club.gif.
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t90</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP2 calls t90, <font color="#666666">5 folds</font>.

I try to take a stab at the pot against PPs that didn't hit about half of the time, other times I just check.

Flop: (t225) 4/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 3/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 3/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets t125</font>, MP2 calls t125.

And now I'm completely frozen, and I have no idea what the hell to do.
I generally check, being aware that I'm beat by anything on the board, and fold to any bet.
I sometimes re-fire against the mega-donks who call bet after bet with PP just crossing their fingers for one of those 2 outs.

Turn: (t475) 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero...?</font>

Final Pot: t655

Typically, this is a low or middle pair and you can't buy the pot, so just check/fold the turn.

This is why I HATE raising AQ out of position.

If I raised AK here, I probably would have raised it to 120.

Depending on how I feel... I push this flop, sometimes I make a 1/2 continuation bet.

Sometimes I bet the turn, sometimes I check it.

Represent an overpair with a larger raise PF with AK, it works pretty well.

(but take my advice with a grain of salt - because i am a moran)

I hate raising AK, AQ EP too, but if I don't, 2+2 yells at me.

I mix it up -- I limp, 3xBB, 4xBB, 3.5xBB...

on the flop too... sometimes I take a pot bet stab, 1/2 stab, when I hit I do that, I do this...

but while I'm generally quite a confident player, I hate feeling like a kitten against some donk calling 3xBB cold with A2o and bluffing at me.

I prefer limping and playing if the flop hits me, people are just to call happy for me to make continuation bets in the 10+1 tournaments. And BTW, no point in mixing your play if your playing different opponents all the time, just play the way you feel is the best /images/graemlins/smile.gif
