Has anyone had any success with any of these. I have a Doberman and a miniature pinscher and the min pin has developed a barking problem. I wouldn't care too much, but we have two kids, 18 months and 1 month old who are light sleepers.

If you had any success do you remeber the collar type?

Thanks, MrX

Don't use these things. Train him right so that he's not a barker to begin with.

he is an 8 yr old dog that never had a problem til we had kids 18 months ago and no traditional methods work now. I don't want to get rid of him, but my kids and wife need quiet sometimes and they don't get it now.

this provides a nice segway to my follow-up question, can you use these on babies to make them stop crying?

training (http://www.perfectpaws.com/bark.html)

more stuff (http://www.dogpatch.org/sheltie/barking.html)

Some of them shock the dog. If you want to get one that shocks the dog, just give the dog away instead.

I used one, with marginal success. It didn't hurt him either. I know this because I tested it on myself first. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Eh, lots depends on breed. I had one that sent out a high-pitched noise only heard by dogs for my Pomeranian, but it didn;t seem to work out so well.
