View Full Version : Making a hat trick the hard way...

Hold'em players be on the alert for the idiot light. When it flickers it may be time to pack it in. Just like your car, the upstairs computer does tell you when things are off. The problem is when the idiot light flashes, we play like we don't see it.

The SPM went to the casino in Aurora on Sunday looking for a hat trick. The game plan was to play from the Valley of Patience. Things were going as planned up a stack and the game was beatable. Then the old knee started pumping up and down and the hands frantically played with the chips. The next thing you know there's a raise from the button and the SPM only had K4 suited. Guess what? He was the button. It worked and the pot was his. Did anyone see that idiot light flash. No of course not, he won the pot, it was a strategic play.

Moving to the main game from the feeder still up a stack, but the players were a little more savvy. Except for Mr 52 Cards who beat the SPM senseless. It was ugly, the idiot light was flashing and everyone saw it but only one person ignore it. That's right the SPM was playing from Boarder Town and with in short order they sent him packing.

The rule is any money that touches losing money must be sent to the craps table. The casino took it with a smile, then to the black jack table with the last eight red birds. Now the grinding starts, three red birds at a time. Finally there's a full stack of red birds and the SPM has lost all patience he bets the whole stack. It wins.

Back at the hold'em game. He grinds his way back to even and up seven white ones, it only took 12 1/2 hours. Next time when he's up a stack and the idiot light goes on, may be he should take the chips and run. Wouldn't hurt the hourly rate would it? It's and old familiar pattern, ignore the idiot light and play long.
