Hey guys, I need a little help. I figured where else to turn but OOT.

I'm looking for the physical properties of a few compounds.
I need to know what compounds 3-isocyanatopropyl triethoxysilane is soluable in

I am thinking of using THF, but not sure.

So if you guys know of any sites that list chemical properties of compounds including solubility that would be awesome.

edit to note: I cant use any solvents with an OH group, no wet solvents.

hehe google no help, a few research papers, but none that I have read yet are related to the task at hand.

Strange place to look for help, but I'll see what I can do (5 year of organic chemistry).

I don't remember anything that listed the chemicals solubility in various solvents, so it'll take a little bit longer.

Look up the compound in scifinder, or chem abstracts, or whatever you have access to, see what reactions have been run with it, and in what solvents. Take your pick from those...

Are solubilities in the Merck Index? I'd look for myself, but it's on my desk at work.

Most of the time we use THF, DMSO, DMF etc with silane compounds, but you should really just dig up the scifinder or beilstein database of this compound and see what it is soluble in. What type of chemistry are you doing?

I think they are...I don't know...it's been a few months since I was last in lab.

Try acrylamid, the non-polymerized stuff.

Uh, will any of the information in this thread help me either get high or blow something up?
