View Full Version : Is it wrong to hate AJ?

Every time I see the hand late in a tournament I cringe. I feel obligated to raise with it, but I just hate getting reraised with it so much that I sometimes just fold.

Take this for example: I've been playing very aggressive with a decent stack, and I've been stealing the blinds fairly consistently from many positions, but LP more often than not. Finally I'm on the CO and every folds to me and I have AJs. Well I can raise with it, but I'd rather do it with 76 because I know what to do to an all-in, and if someone calls I can play a flop easier.

The most notable thing is getting reraised all-in. I NEVER know what to do. Is he playing back at me? Ax? A-face? PP? Inevitably I call thinking they're trying to play back and I always run into AQ or AK. It just happens too often.

Is it wrong for me to fold AJ in this situation first in, or am I sacrificing valuable EV and I should just suck it up and play it out?
