View Full Version : 88 hand - spewage or strong?

I get so lost in hands like this against unknowns, sometimes I think the idea of 3-betting and folding to a 4-bet must be spewage and other times I think that I should bet the river for value and I overuse free showdown raises.

BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB calls.

Turn: (3.25 BB) T/images/graemlins/spade.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font> with the intention of folding to a cap or checking behind river

Why do this against a player you don't understand or control? That's a pretty good working definition of literally not knowing what you are doing. No wonder you feel lost.

Just call down the checkraise.
