I'm not quite sure what I was hoping he had, something like 2 overs or a mid PP... Just wondering how people would play this differently. Am I overvaluing trips in this situation?

With UTG and MP2 still to act behind you, I might have raised on the flop. A possible four-way to the turn, might include a straight chaser. Having gotten HU, I think the turn & river went very well. Looks like you played for full value. Putting him in on the turn or hitting the river hard likely would have saw him folding.

What is your kicker?

edit: Ouch, a 2. That makes this hand a bit nastier to play.

I don't particularly mind the way you played it though and since he just called on the turn you have to valuebet the river.
