baad session yesterday, I'm still doing the post mortem. Forgive me if this is a stupid post, but I'm still trying to get situated re: the swings of 6max.

I know lots of bad sessions involve getting rocked, and making progressively worse decisions. I'm just curious if luck was a major factor in this turkey:
(BTW, my normal stats: 28% VPIP, 18% PFR, 36.4% WTSD, 50.73 WON$@SD%, 2.25 BB/100 (before this session) )

700 hands is not enough to determine if you were running bad or playing badly. you did have quads twice... that is pretty good. But you also invested a lot in high card showdowns.

I go on swings bigger than this with some frequency, but it is hard to tell if your loses are due to bad luck or bad play by looking at statistics like this.

Post some hands, or evaluate your mistakes in a meaningful way that will lead you to improve.

Of course you were running bad during those hands. Nobody (who is even close to reasonable) loses 10 BB/100 by just playing badly. However a 70BB swing is really nothing and you should get used to it if you want to play 6max /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the advice, you guys. If anyone is devoted to improving, it's me. This post was just one aspect of analyzing this session.

In fact, I dug up a high card->showdown hand that I just posted /images/graemlins/smile.gif

How long have you been playing 5-10, and how many tables do you play?

For about 2 months, and usually two tables, but this session was 3. Too much? I've already decided to scale it back to two tables max.

Totally meaningless.
