I am about to finish my BBA, and then go back to school to get a Secondary Education Degree. I am planning to coach baseball and football at the HS level, but I cannot seem to set this in stone. My mind keeps wandering to many other career choices where the money outweighs the love of the job.

I am married, 32, with 3 kids. My wife has been a nurse since before I graduated HS, and she makes me feel like a moron for not finding a career and saying this is what I always wanted to be. I can no longer aspire to be a professional baseball player, and would have not made a great one to begin with!

Do any of you out there over the age of 20 have the same issues? /images/graemlins/blush.gif

Not homeless...

I don't really care right now. I wish I knew - all I know is that I don't want to be a pro poker player. I'm not good enough and I don't handle the swings really well. I also could never see myself playing higher than 5/10 NL.. The money is just matters too much.

Maybe a CIA Agent. That would be sick. For now, I'll stick with drunk/college student.

Yeah. Quit college to work construction. More money and someone needs to build the friggin' hospital, correct?

Decided I didn't want to eat sammiches out of the same lunch bucket every day, so ended up selling insurance. Did very well I might add. Now I'm tired of it. The marketplace sucks and I'm considering launching an irrigation business to get back to working with my hands. 1 marriage, 4 mortgages, 3 kids, 1 divorce, 1 grandson (last week thanks), 1 girlfriend 11 years younger than me and the ability to glue PVC pipe for $30 an hour, priceless.

Hope to God I never "grow up".

I want to be a soccer-dad when I grow up. Seriosly. I have no problem with the future wife making the money while my biggest decision of the day is what to feed the kids for lunch.

With that in mind, I am on my way to being a HS teacher, so at least i can pull the soccer-dad thing during T-ball season.

This is my current occupation, plus student. But it's swimming dad in my case. We spend approx 3 hours per night at the pool 5 nights a week. I play poker and run around with my kids during the day. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Being a HS teacher wouldn't be that bad because you get to stare at teenage thong all day long.

Kathy Leibert once said after she left the corporate world that her mother told her to, "Do what you love and the money will follow". Seems logical. No matter what you choose to do in life for a living, you should live so that you love your life. Not your salary.

Do any of you out there over the age of 20 have the same issues?

Absolutely. I have no clue what I want to do with my life. I'm headed towards my second career change (in other words, third "career") already at 25.

My biggest difference was me: 34, her: 21. She was not living with her parents at the time, and had a 2 year old kid. I didn't see any problem with that. It's bad that I don't find myself attracted to women of my own age or older (outside of the hottest women over 40 thread). For non-celebrities, -15% might be my max. /images/graemlins/frown.gif Maybe it's because I've never been married and don't have kids, and I want someone at a similar place in life.
