Party poker .5/1 LHE games too tough for you?

What's the story.

I thought I had some game. There were nights I would sit at the 4/8, 6/12. or 100 buy-in NL and I'd feel really sharp. I'd have a feel for what everyone was up to and would make very sharp decisions.

I had some problems though. First of all, those games were above my bankroll. Basically, I didn't even have a bankroll. I'd just take a few hundred bucks out of my paycheck to play, and if I won, I sort of had a bankroll. If I won three or four times in a row, I'd usually go look for a 10/20 or 15/30 game. This system, as I see it now, basically ensured that I'd never win. I'd tilt really badly, so much so that often it would carry over away from the tables. I was also sick and tired of going to work at 7AM bleary-eyed from an all-nighter online or at the casino.

I basically decided to take a six month cooling-off period, which I'm five months into. I think its extremely unlikely that I'll go back.

Sorry for poker content in OOT.

I am retired from online play. I still play in some home regular home games, and go to the B&M every couple of weeks. I am not playing nearly as much as I used to.

So you registered and started posting on 2+2 around the time you stopped playing poker? Makes sense.

I quit when i admitted my gambling addiction (the same time I went broke and started this second account)

I stopped playing cash. I now only play the night time micro tourneys (which I pwn at [note the location]). It's literally the most badazz thing you can do with poker. I still play cash games with friends and when I'm 18 I will pwn TS.

[censored], I dunno. I play about 7-8 hrs a week.

Didn't need to read much after that.

Get properly bankrolled if you ever want to try it again...

And since I do play online poker, let me take this chance to whore my blog (http://www.cnpokerblog.blogspot.com)

I don't know if you've heard this before, but you look remarkably similar to the drummer guy on the Conan O'Brien show.

I'm pretty sure I psychologically can't handle the swings at anything higher than the 5-10/6-12 level, so I generally play 3-6 with a little 2-4 and 5-10 mixed in (plus some O8 and SNGs) between 5-10 hrs/week.

My goal is to make enough between play and bonuses to pay for green fees and other assorted expenses through the year. It's worked out so far going on three years now.

It is getting uncomfortably close to football season - agood time to retire the chief for a while.

I'm taking a break from playing right now and reading and studying a lot. Hopefully, my head will be a lot clearer and ready to play aggressive and fearlessly.

Until then, I'll just relax and comment on other peoples hands (misery) and problems with girls in life in OOT.

It'll be back. All it takes to win in the BT is top level talent, and if there's one thing Zook is good at, it's getting top level talent.

lol...no, I used a different account for the six months prior to creating this one.

I created this one, intending to just drop a, "Hey Dude, I like your style," to the Dude, and it ended up becoming my primary account, and my original one faded into the sunset.

actually, its kind of funny.

I had quit poker, and pretty had much quit posting. I'd use this handle to read the big threads on OOT on Sunday afternoons if I was bored. I was hardly ever posting at that point. Until I came across the whole Myspace, Kwazar fiasco (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=exchange&Number=1972657&fp art=&PHPSESSID=). I got involved in that, and have been a regular OOTiot ever since.

I've been back playing the past two weeks. Been doing well, especially not playing many hours. Won a 51 player multi. Managed to "Triple it and double it," a la Tilt on my deposit.

Anyway, this post isn't about poker content, its about. . .

Back when I had a job (I love using that phrase), there was a lady who would send company-wide e-mails about cats in need of adoption. I sent this picture out once as a reply, and had no idea how many sensitive cat lovers there are in this world.

Lesson learned.
