This same scenario keeps happening to me. Maybe I should start re-elvuating my steals when people limp in with the blinds being so high? Even so 77 is a hard hand not to steal with this late. If this was an isolated incident I would shrug it off as bad luck, but I feel like I keep running into limped monsters.

What about this hand? Not the same situation but I am just wondering. This feels like it should be an easy push, although my image has to be pretty loose because I have stolen several of the last pots.

Thats why its important to think not about your own holding, but your opponents holding.

1st hand: JJ+ Im pushing regardless. If I have a lower holding, I gotta say to myself first, why did he limp in for 300? Unless hes an idiot, its only b/c he has a very strong hand (I find it to be AQ+, 88+) and wants action on it. As such, he is unlikely to fold if you push all in. Its tough, but I would fold the first hand.

2nd Hand: I wouldnt steal in this position only because of the chip stacks of both players. Since they are both so short, their calling ranges of hands widens greatly. ICM still says this is a .9% +EV though... I say there are better spots to push from though, b/c the value you gain from the big chip stack is greater than a marginal pushing situation (Keep in mind that you will get called 50% of the time if you push in this situation by one or the other blind). You also lose table image for future pushes, as your opp wont respect you as much.

My problem is distinguishing between an opponent who wants action on his aces and the guy who doesnt know what to do with 22 or J 10 suited this late in a tourny so he just limps for 1/4 of his stack.
