AP reports - And Wade is expected to chase that opportunity; Van Gundy said he'd be "shocked" if Wade didn't play. With his strained rib muscle still bothersome, Wade participated in the Heat's walkthrough Monday morning in an effort to prep for Game 7. The injury is accompanied by sharp pains in his side and his mobility is limited, but teammates said after Game 6 they expected him to try to play in the finale ? and apparently, they were right.

They said he was participating in shootaround earlier today, and anybody who thinks he isn't going to play is kidding themselves. No doubt he is sweet and the Heat need him to have a shot. But playoff injuries are somethin every team has to face...just ask Isiah

i bet 500 to win 525 on the pistons to win outright. They are minor underdogs for those of you who don't look at the lines.

I think the pistons will pull through tonight, even though I'm a huge dwayne wade fan. I think he is awesome.

He's going to play, but he's a ways from 100%. As I understand things - even if the Heat win tonight he's not going to be recovered before the end of the finals.

The Heat may be in trouble. If they get 25/12 from Shaq, a great game from Wade (meaning what'd normally be a pretty-good one for him) and the rest of the team comes through they have a decent shot. But the Pistons have been pretty damn good when they needed to be these past couple years, and Wade's not going to put up another 40 tonight. I'm surprised to see the Detroit as an underdog (+2, +120 moneyline right now).

HUGE shot to end the half.

Detroit is playing great efficient offense, but their defense has not been what it needs to be. Too many easy shots, not enough pressure inside. Sure they held the Heat to a low score, but that's more because of the pace of the game and the fact that the Heat's players are all gimpy. The overall intensity of the game is not what I would expect for a game 7. I think both teams are lagging a bit, although Detroit is shooting well.

If Wade scores 8 more points and the Heat win, this performance will easily go down in history along with Reed and Thomas's as the most heroic ever.

Sorry but defense still matters in the NBA. The best two teams are in the finals, what more could one want? Should be a great series.

Sure it matters but I don't want to watch it. I could not possibly care less about how well a team "meshes" or "intangibles." I want to see flashy plays.

The ability to combine both of these is why everyone like the Bulls.

I was thinking the exact same thing on that play. Jones bumped into the ref and fell out of bounds, and they call a foul on Chauncey. Bunch of iffy calls in this series, and these same refs are working the finals.

No. It was far from *that* good. Plus, it wasn't even in the finals. It wasn't even in the same ballpark as, for example, Jordan against Utah in Game 6 let alone Willis Reed. Let's get a little perspective here.

Phoenix1010

I think we're going to have to agree to disagree here. I didn't mention the Jordan game because that one was on another level altogether. Reed's heroics are legendary, but come on, he scored 4 points. I agree that the importance of Wade's performance was diminished by taking place outside of the finals, but it still was looking magical for a while there. None of this matters, like I said, Wade fizzled.

lol. Jesus, look at the time of post. It was made when Wade scored 12 points in the third quarter (despite straining to jump and run) to give his team the lead going into the fourth. Anyone who was watching at that point had to feel like they were witnessing something special, get off my case. Still turned out to be a great game, and well worth watching anyway.

Jordan's performance tops Reed's by a comfortable margin.
